KATHERINE SPARGO

Restorative Yoga Teacher

Katherine hosts monthly Restorative Sundays at The Wellspring. Restorative Yoga is different from other active yoga styles that focus on movement and stretching. Restorative Yoga is a gentler practice which utilises bolsters, blocks and blankets to create mental stillness and deep relaxation for the body.

A welcome practice for our busy lives, Restorative Yoga is about taking restful postures that allow you to put your to do list aside, find quietude in the mind and heal the effects of stress. An opportunity to slow down, do less and tap into the calm side of the nervous system. Your relaxation response.

With a varied background in facilitation and dance, Katherine is a lover of all things wellbeing. She lives with her young family in leafy Mount Evelyn, a stones throw from the beautiful Yarra Valley.

Drawn to a more gentle, slow version of yoga, Katherine is passionate about providing accessible yoga so all individuals regardless of background or ability can find mental stillness and deep relaxation.

Completing the Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching (350hrs) with the Australian Yoga Academy, Katherine has practiced Restorative Yoga herself for close to a decade. She has studied Restorative Yoga with the Biomedical Institute of Yoga under the tutelage of Marian Cavanagh who trained directly with Judith Hanson Lasater.

“Warburton for over 20 years now has been the place my husband and I come to when we want to connect with nature, feel rested and restored. To share my passion for Restorative Yoga regularly at The Wellspring with the Warburton community is a true honour.”
